Now Upload reaches top 200,000 Rank

22 02 2007

I have been waiting for this day to come for some time now (although it was earlier this week) and have eagarly been watching Alexa’s rankings of Now Upload stick around the 217,000ish range for solid week. The reason I was excited about this is because it’s the last day Now Upload had *crappy* ratings in the 3 month window, which Alexa proudly judges site popularity on.

Today, Now Upload reaches the ranking of 192,988 on Alexa’s international scale. More specifically, in Vietnam (where more than 50% of the site’s users hail) Now Upload is ranked 2,391 and 150,423 in the US.

It’s exciting to see the site grow as much as it has in the past year and a half. I look forward to improving it steadily over the years. However I begin to wonder this now, how reliable/accurate is Alexa’s reach analytics system? Anyhow, it’s a upper for any webmaster to see their ranks glide up.

NES Original Nintendo Console + Games Sell for $6,202

11 02 2007

I started watching this Auction some time ago when it first was put up on ebay. Seeing it as an interesting auction, I posted it up on ebay, but unfortunately it received a ‘few’ immature bidders and at one point hit up to $241k before the auction was completely taken down to start anew.nesbogus.JPG

I didn’t take long for the seller to put it back up on the ebay marketplace, the seller took it down and decided to put it back up without the digg publicity. Even though the large amount of fanfare still followed the auction (When the auction finished up, there were still 17k pageviews on the auction.) And we finally know how much the ‘entire’ NES collection is worth on the auction house: $6202

Cheers.

GEORGIA GETS SNOW!

1 02 2007

Alright, I know a lot of you yankees may be like “Well snow’s no big deal. I get it every other day up here” but let me tell ya, when Georgia get’s snow, Georgia shuts down. And today, we got snow, not alot, but enough to call a day off.

OMG SNOW OMG MORE SNOW

What’s more, my school didn’t close until after 8:00 AM. I woke up this morning at around 6:30, saw that the county schools closed but not the city schools, and went back to bed completely ignoring the fact that it wasn’t closed. I can only assume that only a handful of diehard students and teachers (several live outside the county) showed up today. Only to realize that they were the only ones there and then decided to close.

Last year we had flurries gather in spots, but you couldn’t get all the snow on your property to make a decent sized snowball.

We did have the infamous snowstorm back in ‘93 which many North Georgians and Tennessee residents still refer to as the largest snow storm in the southeast in recent memory. It was responsible for shutting Georgia COMPLETELY down as it was declared a “state of emergency”. We simply never expected that much snow, ever.

Well, I hope you have a good day =]
